This is a bundle of busy bags for our older learners! This is a combination of two literacy based activities and two maths based ones. All the activities are designed to be fun-filled, hands-on, engaging ways to learn!

The literacy busy bags cover CVC words and phonics. Both vital parts of learning to how to read and becoming confident lifelong readers.

The maths busy bags cover addition, subtraction (with room to move to multiplication and division when they are ready) and number bonds. 

Bag 1: Peg it (literacy based bag)

Our new Peg It bag is all about phonics! This bag is now a follow on from Something Beginning with and is a fantastic way to develop their phonics, which are a vital part of learning to read, and is usually the first strategy children learn in becoming confident lifelong readers.

Our busy bag uses bright, fun pictures which they match to the phonic sound on the card by pinning a peg on the correct image (this is fantastic for fine motor skills!), our info card also includes lots of fun ways to extend the activity as children develop. 

This activity is suitable for little ones from 4+. As all children develop in their own time, this is a guideline and may vary with your child.

Bag 2: The fox sat on the mat (literacy based bag)

A child that can identify letters and understand the sounds they make is ready to start making their own words. Sounding and blending is where the fun begins. In this My Busy Bots bag children can begin making the all important consonant-vowel-consonant words with jumbo letter beads and move onto harder ones as they progress.

This activity is suitable for little ones from 5+. As all children develop in their own time, this is a guideline and may vary with your child.

Bag 3: Ellies equal (maths based bag)

Focusing on adding and subtracting provides a strong foundation in Maths, which is key to success as children move through school. This My Busy Bots bag provides an excellent opportunity for children to work on these skills in a fun and interesting way. Perfect for keeping them focused and busy learning!

Bag 4: Cupcake sprinkles (maths based bag)

Bonds of 10 are also often referred to as 'number pairs'. They are simply the pairs of numbers that make up the number ten. Knowledge of number bonds is essential when it comes to harder calculations, so it is vital children get a firm grounding. This fun My Busy Bots bag uses cute sprinkles to give children a hands on way to develop these important skills all while having some fun cake decorating!
