Life during Lockdown

Rainbows and Kids playing with Busy Bags

And just like that everything changed. The schools and nurseries closed, we were told to stay home to save lives, and for parents that means spending an indefinite (or seemingly infinite) amount of time in very close contact with our little monsters! Not to mention juggling working and homeschooling at the same time, thinking up countless things to do with kids at home… it’s been a challenge to say the least.

There are a couple of things we’re really grateful for during this crisis however. One is all the rainbows decorating all the windows. If you haven’t already noticed, we love colour over at My Busy Bots, and happily jump at any chance to paint a rainbow. Ours is enormous and the kids loved making it!

The other thing we’re grateful for is all the amazing feedback we’ve been getting from customers during this time. So many parents have told us that our busy bags really help to entertain kids at home and provide opportunities for home learning, which is exactly what we set out to do when we created them. It warms our hearts!

“I think we are all struggling for things to do with the kids at the moment. The best thing about these was that both my children were interested and they don’t need me to set them up or be part of the game. Beautiful independent play moments” - Elizabeth

"This is an amazing way to educate and keep your kids busy at the same time." - Sophie

"My 3 year old daughter is loving the School Starter bundle. Such fun games she doesn’t realise she’s learning." - Sarah

If you are looking for indoor activities for children at home, that are both educational and fun (and will even buy you a few minutes to drink a hot cup of tea), we highly recommend our bundles of busy bags. These contain several busy bags, each with a different educational activity. One of our customers had the bright idea of giving each busy bag to their child an element at a time, so that they last longer during lockdown. Thanks Katharine, that's genius!

Deliveries

Due to the COVID-19 situation, we are still operational but are finding that deliveries are taking longer to get through at the moment. Do please allow extra time for it to reach you. Our distribution centre closed at the end of March and we have taken the delivery back in-house, as we think that Busy Bags count as essential to many parents and kids out there! We are taking precautions when picking & packing orders and washing hands frequently. To reduce the amount of contact we are going out to ship orders a bit less often than usual - rest assured, we will deliver as quickly as we can, and you will get a shipping confirmation email when it’s been dispatched.

We ship our orders with Royal Mail, who say they are seeking to deliver as comprehensive a service as possible at all times, but are experiencing challenges with increased absence. Basically that means a lot more posties are off sick (or self-isolating) than usual, which means that their delivery times are taking longer. We are seeing that they don’t always deliver to every street every day, which unfortunately means that your package may take a bit longer to get to you.

We appreciate that this is frustrating and know that you can't wait to get your busy bags. We are working on a solution - more on this story later!

In the meantime stay home, stay safe and enjoy the rainbows xxx
